Making the big shot.

As required by the application process for the Vector Animation Development Project I have posted this storyboard for the "Strike" animation sequence. This storyboard ties into the proposed jungle theme I have detailed in my application email sent to Brunswick Bowling and Billiards. But to recap, the following is an excerpt from the application email explaining the setting and background story:It is a typical sweltering day in the jungle, and the monkeys are hot and thirsty. But the stream they go to cool off and have fun swimming in has been plugged up with logs by a mean ol’ tiger hording all the water for himself. The monkeys enlist the help of a big lumbering rhinoceros to unplug the stream. It is up to the bowlers to help the Rhino smash through the blockade and save the stream with high scores and strikes. The better the score the more damage is done with strikes bringing down the logs and washing the tiger away. Gutter balls result in the monkeys sighing in collective disappointment with tiger laughing in glee. But the more damage is done to the blockage the more the monkeys cheer and root the players on. This concept falls square in the heart of the jungle theme sought by the client while providing a since of engagement for the players.

Candylicious
Candylicious was a team collaboration by Adam Pecar and yours truely. This animation stars a mischievous raccoon that bit off more than he could chew.

This digital illustration was completed for a project I was hired to do for a new construction consulting firm known as Hard Hat Oasis. This work featuring interchangeable billboards and banner allows the client to insert text and imagery tailored for their printed new letters website and other media.

After looking at some poster sized Native American prints at a shop just north of Petosky, MI, I was taken aback at the hundreds of dollars they cost. So instead of forking over large amonts of cash to buy the art. I put my own art skills to use to create this digital illustration in a similar style I saw at the shop. Cost: 20 bucks for a pack of 13 x 19 photo paper and about 20 megabytes of space on my hardrive. I can live with that.

Brunswick Project
I have setup this blog site for the explicit purpose of applying for the internship position offered by Brunswick. The objective of the position is to create 2 minutes of animated sequences for the new Vector Line of electronic bowling score boards. This site contains my portfolio and concepts as required by the application process. I hope you will find my work and my ideas compatible and synergistic with the user experience intended for the Score Board system to provide to bowlers.
