Making the big shot.

Just talked to Biggs Gilmore about an animation/ illustrator intern to see if I can fill that position. Hopefully this move bares some fruit as Biggs is a company I would definitely like to work for and open the door to a great life long career in Animation and storyboarding.

As required by the application process for the Vector Animation Development Project I have posted this storyboard for the "Strike" animation sequence. This storyboard ties into the proposed jungle theme I have detailed in my application email sent to Brunswick Bowling and Billiards. But to recap, the following is an excerpt from the application email explaining the setting and background story:

It is a typical sweltering day in the jungle, and the monkeys are hot and thirsty. But the stream they go to cool off and have fun swimming in has been plugged up with logs by a mean ol’ tiger hording all the water for himself. The monkeys enlist the help of a big lumbering rhinoceros to unplug the stream. It is up to the bowlers to help the Rhino smash through the blockade and save the stream with high scores and strikes. The better the score the more damage is done with strikes bringing down the logs and washing the tiger away. Gutter balls result in the monkeys sighing in collective disappointment with tiger laughing in glee. But the more damage is done to the blockage the more the monkeys cheer and root the players on. This concept falls square in the heart of the jungle theme sought by the client while providing a since of engagement for the players.

Ratz, provides some inspiration

This website promoting a french animated television series titled "Ratz" has a real fun look to it and might be a style worth considering for the the Brunswick animation project.

Show's official website:

Youtube video of one of the show's episodes:

The simplicity, bright colors, and overly exaggerated character design would provide some great eye candy perfect for the 8-12 year old demographic Brunswick wishes to target. From a production standpoint, something like this would be easily doable in flash alone reducing steps in the workflow saving time and expense.

Breathless

This storyboard is based on a script for a 30 second public service television commercial advertising the charitable services of Bridgeport Rescue Mission. Its purpose is helping people facing overwhelming debt and financial ruination due to a catastrophic loss in a household.
